There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost – Martha Graham.

Today, they say I am rewon
Never to suffer even a slight burn
Because I am perfect and without scorn
I shall in glory, in the end, long

On the prose my focus must lay
For in it my strength replay
And on it my hands I lay
Thinking in it I shall find my way

Now my deals are clear
Even than the view of the hawks I rear
These deals I found in fear
“Hark! The aide is near”

But my deals are but scheme
For I cannot lay them out and scream
“I am a rebel to the atemporal beam”
For, on me, their charge lean

To me, I shall keep my muse
Like a SA with his tools
By haps, the wide might hear my rules
Or after my last peace, break loose

I shall keep my peace
Until my peace shall peace

WHAT AM I? — November 3, 2015

I am something,
What am I?
The son of a son
A man liable to sin.

I am something
When People see and sneer,
Friends smile and laugh
Enemies fear.

I am something
The spitting image of God
Carved finely by God
To smell, see,
Hear, feel.

I am something
A human
tempted by the proud deceiver
for heaven or hell.

FOUL CONSTABLES — March 6, 2015

The diligent police;
For fear,
Service change
For fear,
Service wane
For petty,
For fear,
For petty,
We are victimised
For fear,
We are liberated
From petty,
Wealth acquire
From fear,
Influence attain

THE DISPLACED — January 9, 2015

When I was a bud,
Slops my mother couldn’t afford,
I grew up without fun and friends,
Cos I was always knocked down by pox.

From the temple,
We were chased out like dogs.
We were regarded as unholy and feeble,
Because of our shredded togs.

Now I’m ripe to be as collateral
For my sick sister.
I was sold out for petty to a sectarian
By my desperate father

Sometimes I pray for a life quietus
I still have hope
My future may be lustrous

JUST AS I WAS — December 23, 2014

Where I was
In Comfort
Free from affronts,
I thought I was a boss.

Star Crossed.
Too many loss,
I knew not how it costs,
To live under the taunts
of my Inhabitants…

With this gospel
‘Not all Vampires suck blood’
I have broken the spell.
